General Dentistry

A beautiful, healthy smile begins with general hygiene care. Daily oral home care, such as brushing and flossing, is crucial to maintaining a healthy mouth. In addition to daily home care, it is important that patients receive professional hygiene care from a trained hygienist every six months.

Hygiene Services

Even with healthy gums and teeth, a routine teeth cleaning with digital x-rays is an important preventive measure to avoid decay and infection.

Digital x-rays produce 90% less radiation, are more environmentally friendly, and produce instant images for precise, comprehensive diagnosis and care.

Periodontal Treatments

Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums and bone that hold the teeth in place. Healthy gum tissue has pocket depths, between teeth, of up to 3 millimeters. If the pocket depth exceeds 3mm, the pocket is more difficult to clean and collects more plaque bacteria. Infection present, in the gums and bone, leads to bone loss and loss of teeth.

During each dental hygiene appointment, our trained professionals look for signs of periodontal infection. If symptoms of periodontal disease are present, on of the following periodontal cleanings is performed:

  • Scaling and Root Planing: A type of teeth cleaning performed to remove plaque and tartar beneath the gum line.
  • Debridement: A type of cleaning performed to remove excess plaque and calculus accumulated on the teeth.
  • Perio maintenance: A routine cleaning performed on patients with a history of periodontal disease.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Unsightly metal fillings of the past are no longer necessary. Composite fillings match each individual tooth color and enhance the strength of the tooth with resin bonding to safely restore decayed areas or replace deteriorating amalgam (metal) fillings.

Aesthetic materials blend seamlessly with your existing teeth to create a natural, healthy-looking smile.
